V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, one of the major Ports of India established under the, Ministry of Ports , Shipping and Waterways (India), Govt. of India has chosen GRAHAs VR ® to deliver Virtual Reality Experience of the Port.
This was conducted as part of their initiative to showcase a live 360 degree experience of the Port in the Global Maritime India Summit 2023, a premier event organized by the Shipping Ministry of India to stimulate opportunities and investment in the Indian Maritime Sector.
The Global Maritime India Summit 2023 secured investments worth Rs.10 lakh crore, advancing the sector's ambitious Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
The Port also received the Runner-up award for "Best Stall' among Medium Sized Category in the summit.
The entire project consisted of covering the whole Port comprising key elements and specialties of the Port shot in 360 degree live video using drone shoot and then composting them technically into a 3D based VR experience.
There was also a VR Experience in the Summit, which showcased VR Experiences of other Ports across the country.
It's such a welcome move for the Industry and the Tech Ecosystem at large, when we have a Govt. who is forthright encouraging emerging technologies and willing to implement them within the Governmental Organizations. This drives technology adoption across Industries and sectors.
Virtual Reality has profound use cases across Industries & Segments. Shipping Industry which generally involves large machinery, crane operations and other large Equipments has a wide range of use case in which, VR / AR can play an important role in enabling better operational efficiency, cost reduction and overall productivity improvement etc.
As the technology progresses, it reduces the implementation costs and executional tech bottlenecks.
